Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the AI detection?
It is probabilistic, not definitive. The model is strong but no detector is perfect — heavily edited, compressed, screenshotted, or upscaled images, and images from brand-new generators, can slip past. Treat the result as one signal alongside other context, not proof.
Which AI generators can it detect?
The detector recognizes signatures from major generators including Midjourney, DALL·E, Stable Diffusion, Flux, Sora, Adobe Firefly, and Google Imagen/Gemini, among others, and reports the most likely source when it can.
What is the difference between “AI-generated” and “deepfake”?
AI-generated means the whole image was synthesized by a model. A deepfake is a real photo or video of a real person that has been manipulated — typically a face swap. We report both scores separately.
How does the catfish / reverse-image check work?
On request, we reverse-search the image against the public web and show other pages using the same photo. A picture that appears on unrelated profiles or pages is a classic sign of a reused or stolen (catfish) image. It only sees the public web — it cannot check private or login-gated sites like Instagram or OnlyFans, so “no copies found” is not proof the photo is original.
Do you store my image or personal data?
Every uploaded image is first scanned for known illegal content before anything else. We keep a record of each check — including your IP address, approximate location, and basic device/browser info — for rate limiting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance, and clean images may be retained for abuse prevention. Is it free? Are there limits?
