This privacy policy governs the Sealed Rose — AI Image, Video & Text Detector browser extension for Google Chrome. The extension serves as a client for the verification suite that powers sealedrose.com. This document discloses all declared permissions, what data is transmitted, how information is handled, and our compliance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy. 1. What the extension does — and doesn't do

• The extension only activates on explicit user request: right-clicking media or text to launch a scan, or dropping, pasting, or uploading content directly into the side panel.
• It does not monitor, record, or transmit your browsing history, open tabs, search queries, or any page content you do not explicitly select for verification.
• It communicates exclusively with sealedrose.com API endpoints. No third-party ad networks, trackers, or external analytics scripts run inside the extension.

2. Browser permissions and why they are needed

The extension requests the minimum set of permissions necessary to deliver its core verification features:

• contextMenus: Enables right-click context menu options (“Check image with Sealed Rose,” “Check video with Sealed Rose,” “Analyze text with Sealed Rose”) so you can initiate forensic analysis on any webpage without copying URLs manually.
• sidePanel: Provides a side-by-side inspection panel within Chrome to display forensic scan results, confidence scores, and detection breakdowns without navigating away from your active browsing tab.
• storage: Saves user interface preferences and an optional API or operator pass token in Chrome's synchronized extension storage (chrome.storage.sync). It does not store browsing history, scan logs, or cached media.
• host_permissions (https://sealedrose.com/api/*): Restricts network communication strictly to Sealed Rose's verified API endpoints. The extension cannot send requests to any other third-party domain.

3. What is sent when you verify content

• Image & video checks: When you scan an image, its URL is sent to Sealed Rose, which fetches and analyses it, then deletes it. The extension itself does not download or inspect image bytes directly from third-party websites (such as X/Twitter or Tinder), which is why it does not request activeTab or host permissions for those sites. For files dropped, pasted, or uploaded directly into the side panel, the image file is sent over encrypted HTTPS to sealedrose.com, processed in memory, and deleted after the scan.
• Text checks: When you highlight text and choose text verification, the selected text snippet is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS to our synthetic text detection API.

4. Data retention and processing

Media is processed in memory and deleted after the scan. Media files submitted through the extension are never used to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Our servers maintain transient standard access logs (IP address, approximate geographic region by country, basic browser user-agent, request timestamp, and detection results) solely for rate limiting, security auditing, and abuse prevention.

5. Service providers

To perform forensic verification, Sealed Rose coordinates with specialized detection partners:

• Detection partner models: Forensic image and video analysis is performed in collaboration with specialized computer vision and synthetic media verification partners. Media bytes are transmitted securely under strict data protection agreements.
• Google Cloud Vision: Reverse-image search queries are processed only when you explicitly select the web lookup feature.
• Microsoft PhotoDNA: Mandatory automated pre-screening hash comparison against known illegal material.

Service providers process media solely to compute verification verdicts and are contractually prohibited from retaining media or utilizing it for advertising or model training.

6. Chrome Web Store limited use disclosure

The Sealed Rose extension's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements:

• Data is used solely to provide and improve the user-facing forensic detection features of the extension.
• We do not sell user data, transfer user data to third parties (except as required to provide core detection services), or use data for targeted advertising, credit assessment, or data broker indexing.
• Human review of submitted media is strictly prohibited except where explicitly requested by the user for support or required by law.

7. What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal data or submitted media.
• We do not display third-party advertisements or use media for marketing.
• We do not require an account, email address, or payment to run daily free scans.
